Clownfish & h2o chemistry

I purchased another maroon clown to keep my female company. How do I know if they're getting along? He's doing his submissive dance with her & he's missing a piece of his dorsal fin.
My water is right on- zero ammonia, phosphates, nitrates, & nitrites. PH is 8.2. This is after my 3 wk vacation. I told this to my lfs & they said you don't have to do a water change. Is this right? I did a 5 gal change anyway in my 30 gal.

Clown will be fine if it's not already a female, water changes replenish trace elements so good call.

Speaking of trace elements- what are your thoughts on those white blocks that have trace elements in them

So far no blood. They seem to get along great- to the point where she protects him from the goby
