I have an old style bakpak skimmer on my 29gal saltwater aquarium; Q1, what is the best position for my water outlet elbow to be at? I've heard them all, halfway submerged, not touching the surface of the water? Mine is currently 1/4" off the surface for noise reasons. Q2, what is the best position for my collection cup? I have mine about a 1/4" off the water line not the bubbles, seems to work like that, but it doesn't gather more than a 1/4" of skum over a 3-5 day period? But once I clean it out it starts skimming again.
