That's not entirely true... One of my lfs
sells "paradise rock" which it is dry rock but its dead coral skeletons mostly which a lot of you will find remnants of old sea critters in them. The die off is nothing like live rock but after a good rinsing you will probably still see a small algae/diatom bloom on the new pieces as it draws out the last of the nutrients it holds.
