I have alot of live rock and want to add more rock but dry this time, can i add as many pieces as i want at a time since its dry or is it the same rule as live rock with only adding a little at a time?

You can add as much dry base rock as you want. There should t be anything on it to die off and cause a mini cycle.

That's not entirely true... One of my lfs sells "paradise rock" which it is dry rock but its dead coral skeletons mostly which a lot of you will find remnants of old sea critters in them. The die off is nothing like live rock but after a good rinsing you will probably still see a small algae/diatom bloom on the new pieces as it draws out the last of the nutrients it holds.
