Hi all,

I had massive blowout in my 36 gallon tank :(. I used an HOB filter and I ran out I filter cartridges so I used a paper towel to replace the mechanical filtration and everything was fine until 20 hours after I put it in and each fish died one by one all within an hour or so.

I need knew new ideas saltwater or freshwater for the tank. Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Was the paper towel organic?
If it wasn't, many times they contain other cleaning chemicals, and if just a little bit gets in, your tank is no longer.

It was not organic so that must have been the problem

Like kitchen sponges, mildew and moldicides are bad for fishy business.. Sorry for your loss..

Any kind of fish setup, etc. 5 hachetfish, 1 Betta and 4 Cory catfish

Well. I know nothing about freshwater. If you are looking into converting, jump onto their forums.
If you want to setup a reef, I can help you, but it goes much further then fish.!
