Feeding with a skimmer

I've heard that you shut off your skimmer when you are about to feed, then I've heard you Leave it on so it builds up the pressure to get bubbles into the cup. I have a aquamaxx hob on a 30g

I leave mine on. Some people turn theirs off put I really don't see any point.
