Film and small particles on surface of the water

I just started my 27 gallon cube saltwater tank last night. Have a magniflow 160 filter. Put all live rock in last night just cycling now. There is a surface film on top right now. I have two sun sun circulations pumps coming on there way in 4 days. Is there anything I can do to make the film go away or do I just have to wait for the pumps to get here for the surface agitation?

More circulation to the top. Simply point a powerhead up at the surface. The 'film' shows the excess proteins in the water column.

Went through the same issue. Blast the surface and will help. But when I got an overflow and sump along with a pump or wave maker hitting the sueface it takes care of it.

I used this trick in freshwater, don't see why it wouldn't work here. Just drop paper towels flat on the surface until the film is gone.

As already mentioned surface agitation will do it every time.
