Fish Recomendation

Hi,

Looking for fish suggestions for a 37gal FOWLR to become a reef.

Current stocking levels are:

35# LR
1 blue-yellowtail damsel
1 purple dottyback

Going to get 1 Pecula Clown
2 Cleaner shrimp

I was looking at
Coral Beauty Dwarrf Angel
or
Cerub Dwarf angel

But I am worried that these fish still be too big for my tank. I am looking for some swimmers as the Dottyback just kinda hangs out near a cave.

Any oher ideas?

I like Cardinals, but I am worried that my fish are too aggressive for them.

Thanks

john

the dwarf angels are not 100% reef safe. I would look at purple firefish, roayal gramma or some of the shrimp gobies.

Yeah, I really like coral beauties, but I have heard that they might pick at your corals or might not. I'd go with the coral beauty if your up to it though.

I agree with lando.. do a pistol shrimp/goby combo or something, and firefish definately are swimmers..jumpers too!

I have a small coral beauty in my 30 gallon reef and he's fine. I also heard and know from experience cherub angels are completely reef safe. The flameback is one of my favs.

A small flasher wrasse would add lots of color also, but not sure how the purple dottyback will take to him.

I decided to try the Coral Beauty and take my chances that he will be reef safe.

The firefish and royal gramma were too similar to the dottyback in terms of looks. I heard the dottyback may attack fish that look like other dottybacks.

Thanks

Good choice. chances are he might try a few corals out but if you have plenty of algae on the tank and rocks he should be good or try a nori sheet on the glass for him.
