Does anyone when the motors/propellers need to be replaced in fluvals, as the flow on mine seems to have slowed down a little.

are you taking the impeller/magnet assembly out every few months and cleaning/inspecting for damage? ive had my 305 up and running for about a year and there isnt a single score mark in the magnet

Nah never took the propeller out since I installed 14 months ago. Guess next water change I'll take it apart make sure it's not clogged up, don't think it is though so it might just be my imagination.

get a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the assembly and be extra careful because its a ceramic shaft. what i do is clean it witha very mild soap, rinse very well, dry the magnet, then i put a dab of vasoline on it and cover the magnet. also do the same thing in the motor shaft.
