Fluval edge lighting

I purchased a 40 LED strip light from auto zone.

It's a really bright light in this small tank. I was wondering if this was sufficient light for a marine fish only tank.

Never had a salt tank but am in the process of setting one up and all my lfs employees and friends and relatives with salt tanks tell me that with fish only lighting doesn't really matter. It's only if you want to go reef that lighting becomes a huge issue.
