I'm in the process of building a sump, and was wondering if anyone knew if ge silicone 2 window and door was safe to use to add the baffles to the sump.

Do not use that product it contains mold and mildew resistant chemicals in it which is harmful to the tank. DAP makes a 100% silicone that is aquarium safe.

Correct, you need 100% pure clear silicone.

GE silicone 1 does not have mold and mildew inhibitors. Its 100% pure silicone. I used it on several aquarium projects and its always been fine. (its also covered in algae too lol) just be careful and make sure you read the labels very thoroughly
