How deep a sandbed would I need for one of these in a 34 gallon tank?

I think even 1" would work. Best to add them later when the sand is established so they have food. I'm sure they'd take frozen foods and other foods that fall to the bottom.

Thanks just wanted to check as I understand they'll build burrow under sand but I've got 3 inches in places to inch in other places just way it's settled with power heads

I plan on getting one of these guys for my 90 when its up n running.. is he in the tank now? Or do u still have to purchase?

Still have to purchase, just like to get all the info before I do make sure it's suitable. Just basically want bottom feeder to help clean up after a Valentini
