I need help. My fish keep dieing. I can't figure out why.

Tank is a little over a year old.

Salinity is 1.023
PH is 8.0
Amonia is 0.0
Nitrite is 0.0
Nitrate is 30
Temp is 76.5
20% water change every other week.

I don't understand but it is getting frustrating.

Any ideas?

Mark

It is a 75 gallon.
I had two clownfish that made it about 6 months. A lemonpeel angle that lasted about two months. After that a yellow Tang. And two more clowns.

Everything will seem fine and then one day they will just stop being active and in a couple days will die.

I don't get it.

Well the tang is too big for such a small tank, but that wouldn’t be the issue at hand.
Was the tank cycled? I’d put money on parameters causing issues at some point.
How much rock is in the system?

I check the parameters 3 tomes a week and have never found any issues.

I get saltwater and rodi water from the lfs.

Mark.

has anyone used cleaning products or air freshener around the tank

do you have any type of circulation in the tank

No cleaning products. And yes, two circulation pumps.

Not disagreeing because I don't know but, since my parameters are good, how would this be a problem?

Without enough rock territories can’t be established and lead to aggression issues.
Also it is unlikely that you’d actually catch any mini cycle going on as there is bacteria in there for the nitrate cycle. It just might not be enough.

1 lbs per gallon is recommended for both rock.
With all the rock you will be able to scape things with caves and such that will give things a nice natural look to help your fish acclimate and establishing healthy territories.
