i have the same problem in my 3 gallon. it was upto 1.050, i screamed and started mixin some salt. been doin tiny pwc's and today its down to 1.030. still gotta get it all the way down. but one of my shrimps has been spotted today so thats good news, all 3 hermits made it, the snails havnt came out of their form of hiding yet. hopefully they will all make it.

I agree TG that that would be easier and that might be a good option but I`ve been a PWC freak these last ten yrs so thats always what I suggest. Nothing wrong with what you suggested though.
