How many fish to start

I have a 37 gal tank that has been set up for about a month now how many damsels should I use to cycle this and I plan on getting rid of these guys in a month or two

Don't use damsels do a fishless cycle. Get a regular table shrimp from the grocery store and throw that in the tank. Let it rott it will provide your ammonia source. This way you won't have to worry about taking fish back.
