How many times do i feed my fishes?

Ok so I am new at this and very confused, some people say feed the fish 3 times a day is this true? I have a 50gal tank with 5 chromis and a selfin tang, I feed them twice a day half cube of mysis with flakes and the other half of the cube later on that day with flakes, am I feeding them too much?

I feed seaweed everyday and a meat ect every other day

I feed my fish twice a day. Dry pellets in the afternoon and frozen food in the evening. I think as long as you do not overfeed them each time and they are eating all the food before it hits the bottom you are okay.

Tangs are herbivore so you need to give it something different than mysis to keep it healthy. The one thing I notice when I feed cubes is nitrates seem to increase so I changed to rods food.
