i have a dilemna that i need some help with... i have a young healthy cortez ray and a long tentacle anemone in the same tank. up until adding the anemone, i was using two 36" t5 lights (each of the two has 2x 21 watt bulbs). this was fine for the fish, but not enough for the anemone...

if I upgrade to 2x 4 light 39w t5 HOs, will that put off too much light for the cortez ray?

well I've done some research and it seems a lot of people have kept cortez ray's with coral, which as you know require a high degree of light so I would assume its safe.

i wouldn't think light would bother the fish at all. are you feeding it at night, or while the lights are on?
they do hang around reefs in the wild, close to the food source, so i imagine that they are exposed to direct sunlight during the day, but then, they are probably mostly buried in the substrate during the day.
