How to avoid Algae

I'm looking into this hobby but I don't want to get have my tank over run by algae everywhere. I know that I'll have a little no matter what but how can I reduce it and keeping it looking algae as possible? I'm going to use an led single strip light.

ro/di water is the best and most important thing. Next comes feeding and then lighting.

If you are going with a single led strip i assume you arent going with corals then? Cause if not that light should be fine and not help algae to grow.

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.
