They are fromia stars. A friend of mine kept a couple for a while. He took no special care like MacDracor, but all the ones I brought in dissolved in my holding tanks, or my customers' tanks.

That's so weird that I'd have better luck than you. Your tank is so much better than mine (not flattery, I've seen pictures! Lol). Maybe this is an example of something that doesn't do well in pristine conditions?

Someone stop me! Please! But... not just yet...

Stars are hit or miss from what I've seen- the only starfish I have is a serpent that hitchhiked and now I can't find it, go figure
