Hi everyone!

I have a planted FOWLR Fish, Invert, and Algae list
I'm planning on making an aquarium this summer, and it will be a
planted FOWLR. So here are my lists:

Inverts:
Feather Duster
Bumbblebee snail

Algae/plants:
Maidens Hair
Kelp
Ulva
Shaving Brush plant

Fish:
Monodactylus argenteus‏
Harlequin tuskfish*
Tassle Filefish
Hutchii Anthias (group)
Flounder

(* = Should I get this one or not)

Opinions?

Welcome to AA! :) :)

Read up on that flounder. I'm not sure you can do that. And I do believe that tuskfish will eat the snails.

What sized tank you talking? That's a huge part of recommending what to stock.

LOL I'm really sorry I forgot to post the size tank.
It's gonna be a 250-300 gallon tank, so I don't think that list will over go it
And yup, I've read on the Flounder, they are carniverous, so they wont
eat the algae in the aquarium, but I'll have to get one as small as I can
becaus they eat anything that passes by them. I do know one place
where they have them at 1 inch.

And they're recommended in groups of 3.

And ya know, the anthias will require feeding 2-3 times a day. You up for that?

I know I love having to feed my SW fish only once a day or every other day.

Other fish in the tank will probably need to be fed that much also, like the
flounder.

Consider a sump or fuge where you can keep all your macroalgaes out of sight. They will help consume excess nitrates.

I'd also add a tang or two to the list.

Dont tangs eat algae though? That would destroy the whole tank.

You can, but the purpose of it I always thought was for nutrient export. Some do pinch a piece to feed to their tangs. You seem to be twixt and between a SW and a FW planted tank. :)

I'm going to do a SW planted tank.
I won't need so much other filtration if I have algae in the main aquarium.
because than the algae will already be taking out nitrates/ammonia in the
main tank.

Well I never realised that, my algae list are actually all plants.
Will they have a chance of getting eatin by the tang?

So I thought about it some more, and I don't have the money to pay for a
higher grade light for the plants. I'm just going to go back to a Predator
FOWLR aquarium.
So Now I have to come up with the right combonation or species.
I could do a cat banded, or nurse shark dedicated tank.
one of the main points is that it looks like a show tank, and I have to be
able to build it.
