Junk in WetDry

There seems to be a bunch of junk and crap in my wetdry. I can't really remove it because it's under the bioballs "area" so my syphon can't get there. However, I notice that it's getting more and more.

Is there any snail/invert/fish that would eat this stuff? Is it's dangerous? I just fear that it may lead to increased nitrates/nitrites.

Let me know. Thanks for your time!

Sounds like detritus. Is it possible to shut down your system, let the plumbing drain into your wet/dry and take it out for cleaning? A couple times a year I remove my sump and clean it out. I do it at water change time and let the LR rubble in my sump soak in a bucket of tank water while I clean the rest of it. I would imagine you could do the same with your bioballs. Bioballs should be rinsed on a fairly regular basis (with SW) anyway. they have a habbit of collecting junk.
Some people are like slinkies...they serve no real purpose yet can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs!:p
Have a great day! Brian
