Lifegaurd UV Sterilizer
I am new member to this site but have been enjoying reading all the posts.
I have recently purchased a Lifeguard UV Sterilizer for my 200 gallon fish only tank. It is an 80 watt system. The problem I wanted to run by you all is that the ballasts that run the bulbs are so hot that you can barely touch them. I checked ny ballasts for my VHO lighting and they are barely even warm. Does it sound like the ballast is defective? I am worried about starting a fire so I turned them off last night. What do you think?? |

WELCOME TO AA!!!
I don't use one so I am not too sure. I would guess, since it is UV I would tend to think it will run hot. Some one correct me if I'm wrong.
