I have a 105 gal tank with LR and it is a Fish only and I have 2 flouresants on it and i was wondering if Live rock needs special lighting? Please write me back

To further the discussion we had in "chat", here is an interesting article about coralline algae. It's near the bottom of the page.

As well the two actinic bulbs with the "white" bulb would be the best suggestion to increase the amount of coralline in the tank based on your current equipment. Other than the coralline and other algaes, the LR does not need any specific light.

LR is basically just a home for fauna and bacteria. :wink:

If I remember correctly you have 2x40w strips? So stick with that. You did not mention the wattage of the second strip so I cannot help with that but I assume it's the same.

Check out a few places on-line like this and see what you can find.
