Live Rock

Anyone found a good place to get nice live rock at a good price?

Does it matter which type you get or where it comes from?

Thankz,
Tim

Base rock will be cheaper and will become live over time.

+1 Marcorocks.com; also bulkreefsupply.com has some nice stuff. I have gone to CL and eBay too.

The prices on base and dry rock are alot better but I am wanting touse it to help cycle a new tank. I planned on using a 50/50 mix of live and dry.

I can't make my own because it's my first saltwater tank.

You`ll be OK. I know you are right about price. When I got mine yrs ago I got 200 lbs at 8.99 a lb. It was quite expensive.

Check craigslist in your area or local forums. If you are wanting dry rock maybe ReefCleaners.com | Reef Cleaners

Things to watch out for if you go to craigslist is algae, aiptasia and majano.
