It may be hard to see but does anyone know what this is. It has tentacles with what looks like hair on them. It hides in the crack and all I see are the arms

Should I put any food in for the star or can it survive without?

You could prob put in an algae tab or some shrimp. The shrimp will help speed up the cycle some

I always target drop a few sinking shrimp pellets that fall between the rocks but I also have 6 or so the biggest one I have is the one pictured he is about 16inches he is huge

Oh okay so what would up recommend just a smaller portion of that

1 or 2 pellets should be more than enough as he will find other scrapes with in the rocks
he will come out from under the rocks and be more visible if he is hungry as he will explore more places for food
post #4 is a good example of mine searching for food
