Im, getting out of the military and i'm moving back home to TX from VA. It's about a 1800 mile drive, with an hotel in between here and there.

My plan is to keep enough water in the tank to keep the sand wet. Then for the LR I plan on getting a 45gal Rubbermaid container and keeping the rock under water. Then for the fish I plane on getting a smaller rubbermaid and putting an air pump on it with my 200w car inverter.

Then when I arrive in TX I plan on recuring the LR in the same container and doing a water change on it. then for the fish, i'm going to keep them in a temp tank till the old one gets done recycling.

How does this sound. Any advice from any of y'all who have done long trips like this would be great.

Thanks for reading,

Sounds OK to me,,but i would just ditch the sand and get new ..Plus your rock shouldn't really have too much die off, maybe you could split the air line and give some to the rock too
good luck
