Xenia can be a problem IME. Grows like a weed. Just do the corals that you want to do w/out worrying about the clowns. They'll be OK and won't becessarily host what you buy them anyway. I had a pair of clowns that hosted a featherduster. Then, they moved on to my frogspawn, and there was plenty of xenia at the time.

Clownfish do not need a host to survive.

I just witnessed my first clownfish shivering/shaking whatever you call it. When the two got side by side one of them started to like... vibrate. It was quite funny.. and awesome!

Does that mean the shivering one will be the male or female?

Male, he is accepting the other fish as dominant, therefore the fish that is not quivering will become the female.

Just keep an eye on them, it can take several weeks for them to sort things out. Mine didn't stop nipping at each other for over a month.
