There is a great cooling probe made for smaller tanks that is very affordable. It works well for tanks up to 20 gallons.

IceProbe Thermoelectric Aquarium Chiller - 4 in. x 4 3/4 in. x 7 1/2 in. | Probe Aquarium Chillers | Chillers & Accessories | Aquarium - ThatPetPlace.com

It's called the Ice Probe and I read about it in last months's TFH magazine. The author setup his nano up with it installed in the top of a cheap overflow box filter. Looks pretty cool.

One thing I did with my JBJ nanocube was open the hood, unscrewed the fans, turn them over and screwed them back in. The factory application comes so that the fans blow ambient air into the hood, I changed them so they blow the hot air out of the hood. It helped lower my temp by a couple of degrees.

The bio cube fans already are venting the air out.
