NitrAte levels ok?

For now, this is a FOWLR tank (20 gallon nano), corals will be added in a couple of months, and I know they are very intolerant of nitrAtes.

I don't overfeed my fish (2 clowns), and I do about a 20% PWC weekly. My nitrAte levels are around 5-10ppm.

I will be stuffing a HOB filter with Matrix and Purigen in an attempt to lower the levels. Is there anything else I can do?

What test kit do you use? I know API measures high?

5-10 is not too bad. If you want to be sure maybe get a Red Sea kit, might be worth it if you are going reef

Yeah, my API kit is almost done, so I will probably go Red Sea when I have to do a replacement.
