Will a protein skimmer help reduce or manage nitrates??

Oh ok since it breaks them down into nitrates then I'll have more nitrates? Right??

No the skimmer removes the waste before it gets broken down into nitrates and outs it in the skimmer cup

Ooh ok I got it now thanks!!! Yea cuz my nitrates level were still high after I did 20% WC.. And I finally bought a protein skimmer to help.. Just wanted to make sure if it will help..
