Someone from work is offering to give me about 20 lbs. of cured live rock straight out of their aquarium for a great discount price! However, the rock has been sitting in a styrofoam container wrapped in wet newspapers since Sunday afternoon.

Any chance this liverock is still good to drop straight into my aquarium? Or could there be a risk of die-off and a need to re-cure?

I would put it in a bucket of saltwater with a powerhead for a day or two just to make sure. If you have an ammonia spike, you know there is substantial die off and it will take a while to "recure".

Can I use newly mixed saltwater, or should I use 100% from my aquarium?
