Find what rock he's in and teargas him out.

I have no idea which rock he is in... and since I only hear the clicks once every day or two, its going to take a while to find out...

Has anyone tried this?

That could work, or you could try the tilted glass method (or plastic cup) method first.

I find this entire post frightening! LOL
A MANTIS can puncture your finger to the bone and hides under the sand and rocks during the day???? Holy Shmolies!!! Now I am questioning buying live rock!

No luck yet... in fact, I added a new conch about three weeks ago, and the other day I found his punctured shell as well. Oh well.

so is there a way you can make a trap and use a snail (less expensive snail than a conch) as the bait? I'll also bet if you stayed up late at night with a red light you could spot him, not necesesarily know how you would catch him once you did spot him though
