I second this, and I wish you luck catching it.

That thing might require it's own tank just for the awesome factor.

That's the ticket. Keep it in another tank!!!

If not, the lfs will likely trade you for it.

I don't know if I'd even want one of these in my tank. I was expecting some small shrimp. Those things are vicious. I wouldnt want to stick my hand in there!

You can try using a glass tilted against a piece of rock that is baited. Of course a mantis is capable of shattering glass, if that is what you have.

Well... i'd still like to catch the bastard before it makes a meal of any of my fish. I have a small 10 liter tank I could use for him. Then again, Mantis shrimp sushi is pretty common here in Japan, and just happens to be one of my favorites

Any tips on catching?

I'm rooting for you. Those YT videos were nuts! Wonder what it would be worth to your LFS...

How much rock in this tank and can you remove it from the water for a bit? Thinking somehow if you knew the rock he was in, you could "hang it" somehow over a tub of SW. Maybe he'd have no water and fall into the water below.

Dunno. I guess since they can live in that same rock during shipment, that night not work. Just thinking.
