So I Have a 55 gallon. With about 79 lbs LR. I wanna put a lionfish and eel in the tank. Are corals able to survive in a predator tank? I have a 3.5 in. Black sand base and I'd love to add some color to the tank...

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Benhamine

Keep in mind if you get a volitan lion they get pretty large and a 55 may not house them.

Eel should be fine as well. Just watch if you put any sifters or bottom dwelling smaller fish in or they will become lunch.

IMO the eel is too big for a 55 because they can get up to 2ft in length, added they are extremely messy eaters.

As for the volitan LiveAquaria recommends 120G as a minimum tank size
