Puffer fish

Hello, my friend has offered me this puffer fish. I'm wondering if anybody can I.D it for me as I'd like to research it's care requirements before committing to it. Thanks

Mappa puffer. They get over 2' long and need 300 gallons.

He's beautiful! How big is he now? How long does it take them to grow that big? You could always take him and grow into a 300 gallon (would kill for a 300 gallon tank!! LOL!)

He's about 1.5 - 2 inch. I'm not sure about taking on a fish that eventually I'll need to rehome. I only have a 4X2X2 tank

Skip this fish. They should not be kept in captivity by hobbyists IMO.
