I know it's a little late on this thread, but you could have gotten MUCH more tank for that price. I see 55 gal tanks (with filters, hoods, etc) on CL all the time for $150-200.
I got mine for $100 with filter, air pump, hoods, lights, heater, thermometer, gravel, and a bunch of misc goodies. Guy just didnt want it taking up space anymore.
Either way, if you decide on getting another tank in the future (we all do!
) then remember to dig around and consider piecing together what you want. I'm on a student budget myself, so I feel your pain - gotta make your money stretch!
