My wife has been nagging me for one of these for awhile, especially now that she see's how nice my reef tank looks...so, I'm going in
Anyone with experience, please correct anything below:
: I've heard 3-4x tank volume is the best for them. As this is a 56g cube, either a larger HOB
filter (since they apparently poo a lot) or a small powerhead will suffice.
: Based on the all-knowing internet, this can be an issue in a seahorse tank. My proposed solution is a skimmer, killing 2 birds with one stone.
: 74-76 degrees...
- Live rock
: Does this still follow the 1 pound/gallon rule of thumb? This is going to be all seahorses (probably just a pair to start). I might add a goby or blenny or some other "seahorse friendly" fish that won't out-compete them for food. Not more than one or two though.
: Is a standard florescent enough for them?
I know I will need either natural or synthetic grass for hitching, and I'm not putting any corals in this tank.
