Salt mix preferences

I use reef crystals. I have noticed a build up in my mixing container and also have read about others having the same issue. Is this build up ok or could it be the cause of my algae out break. Also what is everyone else using. Thinking about changing.

The build up in mixing containers is reportedly stuff like clay which will not have any ill effects. Most salt mixes will leave behind some sort of residue from being processed or mined.
