Sand question

I have live sand bed and just bought coral substrate and was wondering what would be the best way to put it into tank

Shut off flow ? And put on-top of live sand or mix it in with the live sand ??

It's up to you whether you mix it or not.mbut deff shut off flow while doing it your going to create a lot of dust.
