Siphoning water column vs gravel

Do you guys siphon the water columns only or do a gravel vac as well during routine maintenance?

Well, we normally have sand rather than gravel...but I don't believe you should disturb your sandbed. I only siphon the water column.

I just do the water column and leave the sandbed alone.

Yup, I only do the water column but back when I used gravel I would siphon that a bit too. Gravel was only in FW though.

Same with me, only take out the water and I dont disturb the sandbed.
