Skilter Modification.

I know, I know. The Skilter is a piece of crap. But it makes a pretty good power filter and I am only running a 55 gallon FOWLR. But I was told that there is a way to run the Skilter and make it at least a slightly functional skimmer by adding a airstone. Anyone have a clue how to or know a website to show how?

You simply add a wooden airstone powered by an airpump to the skimmer reaction chamber. More than likely this will require you to drill a hole in the lid to accomodare the airline. Not much too it, really

I did the modification, but I'm getting lots of water in the collection tray. Any ideas? It was working ok for a week or so, yesterday I notice that the tray is getting full in a couple of hours which its not normal. any help would be appreciated...

Put an airline tee between the pump and airstone and turn down the amount of air going to the skilter.
