So I happened to look in my stand today, and found three of my snail in there. Figuring they were dead I picked one up to get rid of, and sure enough it was alive! All three of them were! I put them back in the tank and they continued on their merry way. Can they live outside the salt water?

Snails can live outside of water until there bodies dry out. Snails in the wild often live in tide pools and wait for hours without water. So they'll be fine, but you might want to cover your tank so they don't wander off! haha

If you have nerite snails make sure the are in a covered tank they are known to get out of an aquarium.
