spiderwebs in my tank?!

i have recently had a spate of growth from what can only be descibed as spiderweb looking algae/coral/stuff. its opaque/seethrough and is getting larger. it is sprouting up all over my live rock. its not 'taking over' my tank, but just want to make sure that this isnt going to get out of hand. i can only presume that its a bit of over feeding maybe or the tank is going through a cycle.

please someone put my mind at rest to what it is and if i need to take action :uzi:.

James, it's coming from a worm that sends out a web-like net to capture and eat tiny particles in your tank. I forget the name, but will look it up for you.

What's in your pictures looks like a sponge of some sort.
Here is a picture of my worm with netting extended:
