Substrate for 220g

How many pounds of sand will I need for a 220g tank. It will be fowlr predator tank. I don't want too much sand that will cause dead spots

The pound per gallon rule applied for rock and sand. So 220.

So if I get around 4 50lb bags and add some sand from a current tank that is live I should be set?

It all depends what kind of fish you have and how deep the bed needs to be.
