I have one last suggestion if the dirty glass really bothers you ; "Bar Keepers Friend". You can get it at the supermarket. I use it for my stainless steel pots and pans; I've also used it to remove fine scratches and hazing from an arcrylic tank. And as with everything else, rinse thoroughly.

Have you tried using a flat razorblade? I would spritz some vinegar on the glass and then scrape with a utility razor blade. Always works for me....

The razor blade will work best. Scrubbing glass with anything hard enough will scratch it. Any kind of cleaners will need to soak for a long time and it would still need to be scrubbed. A razor blade with patience is the only way to go. Then use bleach.
