Hi, i have a 20 gallon reef tank and i am using a protein skimmer by lee here is the link (http://www.leesaqpet.com/PICCAT/prod...item/17100-10/) it works really good for me, but if you got more money then get yourself something with more power. The live rocks and live sand should take care of the rest.

as for lighting I follow a general rule of thumb 5 watts per gallon. that is good enough for SPS. but obviously a little more lighting and you can put cooler looking corals.

good luck!
