If the fish had a parasite then they came from an infected tank, meaning they were all probably stressed out to begin with. Id watch out for parasites on your other fish.

U don't have to buy anything special when I acclimate my fish I use a shot glass and add a shot every 15 minutes until I have doubled the water that the fish can in. I ha e never lost any fish this way.

If my water quality was bad enough to kill three fish wouldn't it kill the inverts? I read they didn't tolerate any water quality changes. I am new and trying to find all the knowledge I can
