Trigger suicide

I moved my 1.5 inch Picasso trigger into his new 90g home about a week ago. He was doing really well, eating and exploring. This morning he didn't come out for food like normal when I turned the tank lights on. I have him some time then became concerned and started moving rocks around to see if I could find him. Unfortunitly my dogs found him before I did. They didn't eat him but they did point out to me that he had jumped out of the tank and landed on the floor behind the stand. Time for a fresh start in tank land I suppose and now I won't have to worry about the trigger being the first fish in and harassing all of the new tank mates.

Most fish can jump, so some type of lid isn't a bad idea. Although for many types of fish it is unlikely that they'll jump.
You're right, you probably would have run into aggression having a trigger in there first. In fact, you'd probably have aggression even if he was added last. No trigger is truely suited for anything under a six foot tank.

Sorry for your loss. I love my trigger, he eats from tongs and has lots of personality. Good luck with your next one!
