Tufa rock

Has anybody put tufa rock in their tank?
It's calcium based rock, but I just want to make sure that I'm not about to do something I will regret. I bought $70 worth of the rock because just by looking at it I was sure it was calcuim based. When I got home I poured vinegar on it just to check. There were lots of bubles and fizzing.
Anyhow, I just wanted to hear what everybody else thought.

yes, I have. it should help keep the pH up around 8.2

The last thing I read about tufa rock was that is typically has a high iron content, rock high in heavy metals is not something I would want in a reef tank, if it is for a FOWLR, I wouldn't have a problem using it.

I have Tufa rock on my tank and that's ok for you to have in a fo tank
