I would think...
What might be best for you is to get one of the sleeper gobies since they are constantly sifting sand looking for food. They my not eat the algae but they would keep the bottom stirred up so that the algae wouldn't have a place to really grow and the tank will look better as well. The astria snails should be eating the algae.
